When you avoid visiting the dentist because of fear or anxiety, your oral health suffers. Montz and Maher Dental Group uses sedation dentistry and patient amenities to ensure that you feel comfortable in our practice.
Our amenities include:
- Bose noise-cancellation headphones.
- Comfortable blankets.
- A coffee and refreshment center.
- Chairside computers and TVs.
- Sedation dentistry.
If you’re interested in sedation dentistry, you’ll be happy to learn that we have sedation dentists who are qualified to provide laughing gas, oral sedation, and IV sedation!
Laughing gas can increase your comfort and help relieve your anxiety. After you’re comfortably seated and pampered with patient amenities, we’ll place a small breathing apparatus over your nose. We can control the amount of laughing gas you receive to make sure you enjoy ideal comfort and safety.
The effects of laughing gas wear off almost instantly after we remove the gas, so you’ll likely be capable of driving yourself home following your appointment.
Oral sedation may be the simplest form of sedation dentistry, but it provides significant relaxing effects. One of our sedation dentists will consult with you and then provide a pill that should be taken shortly before your appointment. If you choose oral sedation, we’ll prescribe you a medication that will allow you to be pleasantly unaware of your dental treatment while remaining completely safe.
Oral sedation allows you to have all of your necessary treatments completed after simply taking a pill. After your visit, you will quickly regain alertness and leave our office feeling refreshed and happy with your brand new smile.
For safety reasons, you will need to arrange for a ride home from our office.
Many offices are not qualified to administer IV sedation, but Montz and Maher Dental Group knows that IV sedation is one of the most effective ways to comfort patients with extreme dental anxiety. We have dentists who are trained to administer this dental sedative intravenously to help send you into a state of deep relaxation.
Although you will remain conscious throughout the procedure, you will remember virtually nothing about the dental work that occurs. IV sedation is extremely safe when carried out by a trained sedation dentist, and it will be adjusted to suit your needs while keeping you safe during your appointment.
You will need to arrange for a ride home after your appointment.
Each form of sedation has its advantages, and the one that is right for you will depend on your individual needs. Contact Montz and Maher Dental Group to discuss sedation options before your next appointment!
