If you are interested in sedation dentistry, you’ll be happy to learn that Dr. Montz is qualified to provide laughing gas, oral conscious sedation, and IV sedation options!
Laughing gas can enhance patient comfort and relieve anxiety. After you are comfortably seated and feel prepared and pampered with patient amenities, we will place a small breathing mask over your nose. We can control the amount of laughing gas you receive to make sure you enjoy ideal comfort and safety.
The effects of laughing gas wear off almost instantly after we remove the gas, so you will likely be capable of driving yourself home following your appointment.
Oral conscious sedation may be the simplest form of sedation dentistry, but it provides moderate dental sedation effects. Dr. Montz will consult with you and then provide a pill that should be taken shortly before your appointment. If you choose oral conscious sedation, we will prescribe you the perfect amount of medication so that you can be pleasantly unaware of your dental treatment while remaining completely safe.
Oral conscious sedation allows patients to have all of their necessary treatments completed after simply taking a pill. After their visit, they will quickly regain alertness, and leave our office feeling refreshed and happy with their brand new smile.
Many offices are not qualified to administer IV sedation, but Dr. Montz knows that IV sedation is one of the most effective ways to comfort patients with extreme anxiety. He is trained to administer this dental sedative intravenously to send patients into a deep state of relaxation.
Although the patient remains conscious throughout the procedure, he or she will remember virtually nothing about the dental work that occurs. IV sedation is extremely safe when carried out by a trained dentist, and it will be adjusted to suit your needs and keep you safe during your appointment.
Each form of sedation has its advantages, and the one that is right for you will depend on your individual needs. Set up an appointment with Dr. Montz to discuss sedation dentistry by contacting our office today!
